The Endomysial Antibody (EMA) IgG Test is a specialized serological blood test used in the diagnosis of Celiac Disease (CD) when a patient is found to be deficient in the $\text{IgA}$ class of antibodies.
Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten ingestion. While the $\text{EMA}$ $\text{IgA}$ test is the primary, highly specific marker, up to $2-3\%$ of Celiac patients also have Total IgA Deficiency. In these cases, the standard $\text{IgA}$ tests will be falsely negative. The EMA IgG test measures the IgG class of antibodies against the same target (endomysium tTG), ensuring that these patients can still be accurately screened for CD.
At Augmentum Diagnostics, an NABL Accredited Lab in Delhi, we offer $\text{EMA}$ $\text{IgG}$ testing as a crucial alternative for patients with confirmed IgA deficiency.
